How many times does a person come to your blog, comment on it, and leave without ever hearing back from you? If the answer is larger than zero, then you’ve got some thinking to do.

One of the most important things in blogging is to create an environment where readers feel welcome and are encouraged to communicate with each other and you – the blog owner.

You’ll find that even the most popular bloggers go out of their way to thank their visitors for stopping by and open the door to future visits and conversations.

There are three main ways in which you can make your visitors feel at home on your blog:

1. Respond to Their Comments: Thank them for commenting and answer any questions they may have.
2. Visit Their Blog: If they’ve left a link, then check their blog out and leave a comment there – it will show them that you are willing to have a two-way relationship.
3. Email Them: I’ve only received an email once for commenting on somebody else’s blog – and boy did it make me feel great!
